michelle deramus, ph.d.

Dr. DeRamus grew up in the Opelika / Auburn area before earning her Ph.D. from the University of Alabama in 2009. She completed a predoctoral internship at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, NC. Following her internship, she completed fellowships with the TEACCH Autism Program at the University of North Carolina and the University of Alabama Autism Spectrum Disorders Clinic.

Dr. DeRamus works with preschoolers, children, adolescents, and families with a variety of presenting problems, including:
Autism Spectrum Disorder and other Developmental Disabilities
Anxiety
Depression
ADHD
Behavior Problems
Adjustment Problems

Dr. DeRamus also provides services to adults with developmental disabilities, including ASD, and their families. Her evidence-based treatment approach to intervention is most often cognitive-behavioral, but treatment strategies are individualized, taking into account each client’s developmental level and personal strengths and weaknesses.
