steve shapiro, ph.d.
Dr. Steve Shapiro received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Miami. He completed his predoctoral clinical child / pediatric psychology internship at Duke Medical Center (NC). Dr. Shapiro is currently a faculty member in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Auburn University, where he served as Director of Clinical Training from 2005 and 2014. He remains very active in instructional activities related to child clinical psychology and psychological assessment.
Dr. Shapiro has over 30 years of professional experience with children, adolescents and adults, using evidence-based and individualized approaches to provide comprehensive evaluations and tailored recommendations for Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), specific learning disorders (including dyslexia), executive functioning problems (e.g., organization, planning, time management), anxiety and depression, and giftedness. Dr. Shapiro’s practice at APG focuses on assessment services.
